Teo is a male golden-cheeked gibbon.
He was born at Monkey World as the third child and second son of Peanut and Pung-Yo, who previously had Tien in 2006 and Tia Nang in 2009.
In 2013, Teo's brother Tien left the family's enclosure and was paired with a female golden-cheeked gibbon named Kim, who had also been born at the park.
In 2016, Teo was moved from his parents enclosure and moved in with two other male golden-cheeked gibbons named Zak (Kim's younger brother) and Mikado as he had reached the age that golden-cheeked gibbons leave their families. That same year, Teo became an uncle after Tien and Kim had a son. Sadly, the infant died shortly after birth.
Following Mikado's move to Parc Animalier de Sainte Croix in France with Tia Nang, Teo and Zak continued to live together. But when they started to mature, they began to fight for dominance, resulting in the two living in separate enclosures.
In March 2019, Mikado returned to Monkey World after Tia-Nang began to bully him. He moved into a enclosure next door to Teo whilst Zak moved to Parc Animalier de Sainte Croix to be Tia Nang's new mate.
In September 2019, Teo was paired with a female golden-cheeked gibbon named Alex. However the relationship did not work out and they were separated.
